Mr Abiola Ajayi is a well-rounded Geologist with over 30 years of broad-based geoscience experience. He has held various management positions mostly in the Oil and Gas exploration & Production industry over the last 20 years. He has worked in both producing and service / consulting sectors of the upstream Oil and Gas industry and acquired diverse international experience from Shell in the Netherlands, Schlumberger in Norway and PSI in Venezuela.

He is an expert on the Niger Delta hydrocarbon province and is very knowledgeable in other West/ East African coastal and Inland Basins such as Benin, Anambra, Keta, Douala, Rio Muni, Gabon, Rovuma, Morandava, Doseo and Doba basins.

He was the founding Geology & Geophysics (G&G) Manager with Afren Nigeria and was involved in a number of explorations, appraisal and development campaigns with the company , he was a core member of the executive management team that grew the company from start-up to 21,000 barrels per day production in a two year period. He has led several successful Seismic data acquisition campaigns, evaluation / interpretation, drilling and development projects.

On the business side, Abiola has been involved in a number of acreage acquisitions, divestments and acreage auctions in Nigeria and some other African countries. He is well versed in other geoscience disciplines such as hydrogeology / water resources management and solid mineral exploration and development.

He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Ife in Geology and Applied Geology (Mineral Exploration option) respectively. Mr Ajayi is a member of the Nigerian Mining and Geoscience Society (NMGS), the Nigeria Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) and a COMEG registered Geoscientist.
